Through our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), Staff Secure Residential Unit (SSR), hospital diversion program (New Vistas) and Jefferson Hills Academy, we use some of the most current practices, interventions and protocols to address the complex needs of vulnerable youth and their families.

Vocational Coordinator Position Purpose:

Develop vocational opportunities for post graduate students within the community. Lead the development and/or selection of program components and curriculum for the vocational program. Participate in the development of team frameworks and structures within the school. Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, delegate, and ensure participation and completion of student information activities to include, but not be limited to: attendance at case conferences, staffings, monthlies and transition meetings. 

  • Manage all aspects of program implementation, including materials acquisition, staff training, and program organization.

  • Oversee the placement of students in the community

  • Communicate information regarding staff and students with administration 

  • Document information regarding progress of students using appropriate protocol 

  • Manage any funding or budget provided to the vocational program  

  • Collaboration with external partners i.e. A/D works, Employers Etc.

  • Managing the kitchen work-study program

  • Developing service learning opportunities for the students

  • After care follow up with all identified SUD youth to include weekly phone call/text with youth and/or legal guardian within the first month of discharge. Documentation of this contact and involvement in the relapse prevention group will be maintained in TRAILS and/or TIER.

  • Must be willing and able to perform physical restraints with clients using required CPI techniques.


  • Minimum of a BA in a related field and five years’ experience working with at-risk youth.

  • Knowledge and understanding of post graduate opportunities within the community for at-risk youth

  •  Experience working with at-risk high school students with social – emotional/behavioral needs. 

  • Demonstrated ability to create post-secondary programs. 

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
