Licensed Therapist, CACII/III, LAC and/or EMDR Position Purpose:

The licensed addictions therapist provides direct care to residents in our staff secure residential program (SSR) with diagnoses that include addiction and substance abuse issues.

  • Conducts individual and group therapy with residents in accordance with treatment plans and maintains caseload as assigned by Clinical Manager

  • Coordinates with the referring agencies and/or funding source, community contacts, family, legal system, and other professionals involved in the resident’s treatment.

  • Maintains timely documentation of progress notes in electronic medical records system, admission paperwork, and monthly reports.

  • Complies with managed care standards regarding regular utilization review of all assigned cases in order to meet all licensing requirements for residential treatment of adolescent populations.

  • Facilitates transitions to next level of care by working in conjunction with the Case Manager, Transitions Manager, receiving agency, family members, and all other professionals involved in the planned departure from Jefferson Hills.

  • Consults with the milieu staff regarding clinical issues by monitoring the delivery of clinical services on the unit, and identifying and assisting in training needs in order to provide clinical direction of the unit.

  • Must be willing and able to perform physical restraints with clients using required CPI techniques.

Education/Skills/Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience providing clinical services, preferably to adolescents.

  • Clinical license required with LPC, LCSW, or LMFT designation.

  • CAC II, CAC III or LAC designation required.

  • EMDR preferred but not required.

  • Master’s degree in a mental health field.

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word minimum) required for use of EMDR and report writing.

  • Must be willing and able to perform physical restraints with clients using required CPI techniques.

  • Addictions counseling, education or certification a plus.
